Double Breguet Tourbillon: precision and watchmaking mistery
Two tourbillons, independent of each other, are coupled by a differential gear mechanism and mounted on a central rotating plate, which completes a full rotation in twelve hours. The differential transmits the average rate of the two tourbillons to the central rotating plate and the hour indication.
Thus, the watch's rate is the average of the two tourbillons, resulting in twice the precision of a normal movement. The hour is indicated by the bridge that joins the two tourbillons, which acts as the hour hand; the minutes are indicated by a classic hand in the center.
